Keeping it close to home during the holidays we have been frequenting some of our favorite parks. Today’s post is about a wonderful little playground right beside the beach and harbor called Marina Park in Ventura, CA.
This is a great area for a stroll along side the ocean, a game of Frisbee on the grass, a bbq (bbq grills provided) and picnic (tables provided) , digging in the sand, splashing in the waves or … running around the playground!
For all those that have visited this place in the past (it really was NOT very nice with all that old rusty play equipment) this place has been completely redone! The old play area completely taken down and a new one built in its place.
This playground includes one of my favorite features, a low wall around the park! Nice, new playground equipment gives the area a nice family friendly feel. This a lovely place to spend the day as there is plenty of things to keep busy with. As a family we have visited this park many times and always have a lovely time.
A couple of things to keep in mind when planning a visit, come early if you want a picnic table and bbq (we have never seen a single one free when we have visited in the afternoons), it can get a little crowded and sometimes parking is pretty full and lastly the bathroom facilities are kinda funky. Just saying’.
A few shots of the play area. A slide and climbing wall, a pirate ship and swings.
A little boy enjoying the park. Check out the great view in the background.
The highlight of the park is a huge old ship with a zipline attached. The kids are always lining up for a turn on this for awesome fun ride.
And so ends another day in beautiful California! Happy New Year from our family to YOU!
